ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Combining her business sense and passion for shoes, Swati Mehrotra went into bespoke footwear. Every pair of footwear made by her boasts of being incredibly stylish as well as unbelievably comfortable so that the joy we experience in owning them is unparalleled. An ingenious and charismatic shoe designer with an impeccable eye for detail, Swati Mehrotra crafts each piece to appeal the fashion aficionados. Her shoes are for people passionate about individuality.

Swati earned recognition for herself and her brand with her unique concepts and community services. She started her career by working alongside the A-list designers from WIFW in 2009 after which she started a shoe making academy in Tihar Jail to teach the inmates the art of footwear making as well as to urge the society to accept them back because no one is born a criminal and they can better themselves. Swati also earned visibility in the Cannes by showcasing award winning collections such as shoes made from tyres. She then won the best footwear designer award from HOP, IFFD, IIFT and also became the brand ambassador of Ghaziabad city. Moreover, she imparts her knowledge by teaching students of colleges and is currently on board with Marwah Fashion School. Swati also feels very strongly about the upliftment and empowerment of women and recently supported the Acid Attack Survivors, a society run by Lakshmi saa. Her works for giving back to the society are numerous and involves volunteering to make more comfortable shoes to kids suffering from Polio.

Swati has several accolades in her kitty, the latest being the NagrikSamman award by Jaycees Club international for her outstanding contribution in the field of footwear. She experiments with making footwear with innovative materials such as tyres, cloth etc. to create unique pieces. Her range of young quirky shoes aim to bring out one’s playful side and are redefining contemporary footwear.

Swati managed to gracefully carve out her own niche in the market predominantly dominated by men, and the fiercely competitive footwear market.
